In a world where our non-renewable energy sources are being used up faster than we imagined, people are looking at creating renewable energy sources to compensate.  Earth friendly families are moving out of the suburbs and into rural areas where they can grow their own food, live a cleaner lifestyle, and even create their own energy. These renewable energy sources use Building Fasteners and other fasteners, Heavy Hex Bolts, Heavy Hex Screws and possibly Stainless Cap Screws.
One of the ways that they are creating their own energy is with wind generators.  Wind generators use a turbine that has blades that rotate and collect energy from the wind.  As the electric current is collected it goes through an electrical generator and is used to distribute electricity to the home and can even be used for heating.
Wind turbines can be built by homeowners and can help them save a lot of money.  Since our non-renewable energy sources are decreasing as people use them every day they become more valuable and cost more for home owners.  By using homemade wind power, energy bills are reduced.
The tools that are needed to build a wind generator can be bought from retail stores.  One of the things that home owners should keep in mind when they build a wind generator is that they need to invest in quality tools in order to have a generator that will last for many years to come.  Efficiency is also a consideration because if the tools that are used are not of the highest quality there is a possibility of the turbine breaking or not being sturdy enough and that may cause it to be less efficient.  Pay special attention to the quality of the nuts and bolts and other fasteners that are used to secure your wind turbine.
When you are building your wind turbine remember that location is important.  Your turbine should not be placed too close to the surface of the earth.  The higher up it is the faster the wind blows so the more efficient your wind generator will be.  The top of a roof is not the ideal place because the winds are slower so you will have less power.  Instead look for an open space on the land where the wind can flow better.  Place it as high as possible for maximum benefit.
Security is also important.  Your wind turbine needs to be strong and secure in order to handle the strong winds.  Part of security is choosing the right tools to build it.  Make sure that cables are of the best quality and choose good nuts and bolts to secure your cable so that it will be able to hold everything together.  Your turbine needs to be fixed carefully to the ground and the strength of your cables and the nuts and bolts that you use will be a big part of the overall security of your wind generator.  As well, you should make sure that the blades and the hub are fixed to the pole with strong nuts and bolts.  The security of your blades and the placement of the blades will ensure that wind flows through them and conducts the maximum energy.
